The author and Neolife client has made several references to the clinic in his latest book: “Shangri-La, The Elixir of Eternal Youth”.
Sánchez Dragó outlines how health is the result of genetics, lifestyle choices and our internal character but that health requires both willingness and flexibility on our journey in order to reach eternal youth. Willingness to do what is considered right and the flexibility to change your mind, contradict or transgress the rules for healthy living when necessary.

Fernando Sánchez Dragó launched his book in Seville, where he also attended the Neolife clinic.
Coinciding the upcoming dates with his 80th birthday (2 October 2016), the famous novelist, essayist and journalist, Fernando Sánchez Dragó, launched his last book in Seville on 29 September “Shangri-La, the elixir of eternal youth”.
As expected, the launch was a success. The author explained how his childhood desire to be an adventurous writer implicitly led to the need for him to maintain his body in good health. To this end, Sanchez Dragó began seeking his own elixir of eternal youth from a very young age, understanding that the elixir was only obtainable through personal freedom and by taking steps to maintain his health and vitality.
Fernando Sánchez Dragó is a controversial author, transgressor and provocateur that nobody escapes. He himself recognizes the controversy that surrounds him and in the field of health he is no less controversial. He is not a friend of rules or the type of generic advice for all that is so prevalent in medicine now, and claims that any remedy, whether it is traditional Chinese medicine or the most avant-garde Western medicine could be appropriate for him.
“All individuals are different,” he says, something that conforms to the fourth “P” of our Preventive, Proactive, Predictive and Personalized Medicine approach. His book does not pretend to be a self-help manual which is something he admittedly detests – he does not try to convince or explain to anyone who reads his book what they should do for their health, he only narrates the story of what he has done to remain fit and healthy at 80 years old. “That is what it is about, to stay always young all the years you live.”
Fernando is one of Neolife’s clients. He does not hide this fact, as is clearly written in his book (it appears on 13 different pages, between pages 181 and 360). He also mentions the Neolife clinic on several occasions at the launch of his book “Shangri-the elixir of eternal youth”, in Seville (part 1 and part 2). His common sense, sense of humor, his freedom of thought and his knowledge make him a special patient: he is a patient teacher. From all patients you have the opportunity to learn, but in this case you learn much more. No wonder then that the goal of medicine we practice at Neolife reflects this – to reach 80 years old, and if possible 100, with the vitality and life of Fernando. Although, as a doctor, I do not necessarily share some of your views about certain behaviors or remedies, I respect your individual freedom and I will inform you of the scientific basis of my advice. He himself outlines how health is the result of genetics, lifestyle choices and our internal character but that health requires both willingness and flexibility on our journey in order to reach eternal youth. Willingness to do what is considered right and the flexibility to change your mind, contradict or transgress the rules for healthy living when necessary. Fernando does not have any problem in recognizing that “from time to time I prepare a 500g T-bone steak, and it makes me happy”.
Sánchez Dragó also participated in the XV congress of the Spanish Society of Anti-Ageing and Longevity Medicine.
Two days after the launch of his book and one day before his birthday, Dragó closed the XV Congress of SEMAL in Seville. His participation was once again a great success in a forum surrounded by medical specialists who are united in the aim to ensure that our patients age in the same healthy way as Fernando. This was recognized by Prof. Manuel Castillo during the closing ceremony: Dragó is a person from whom doctors can learn a lot. Fernando defined anti-ageing medicine as a mixture of science, awareness and an art, something that I fully agree with. He received a long and resounding applause.
