Enjoy all those sweet things this Christmas while being aware of their energy contribution

Christmas is a time for sweet things, and very few of us can resist experiencing the pleasure they produce on the palate. The problem of putting on weight at this time of year, lies in the amount of typical Christmas sweet foods that we consume, since these become part of our daily food during the holidays.

Therefore we’ll show you the nutritional composition of the most common ones below, not with the aim of alarming you, but to keep you informed so you can take into account the daily intake of sugars and fats and therefore, kilocalories (kcal), which you consume during the Christmas holidays. Being extremely careful when consuming them and limiting them as much as possible will be the key to maintaining our weight and ensuring that Christmas doesn’t take its toll on our health.

You can enjoy a sweet item or two over the holidays but without forgetting that the amount is important and affects our health.

Christmas is a time for sweet things, which accompany us with their flavors and aromas during these festivities, and very few of us can resist experiencing the pleasure they produce on the palate. The problem of putting on weight at this time of year, lies in the amount (“number”) of typical Christmas sweet items that we consume, for instance nougat, polvorones, marzipan, etc. since these become part of our daily food during the holidays.

Therefore we’ll show you the nutritional composition of the most common ones below, not with the aim of alarming you, but to keep you informed so you can take into account the daily intake of sugars and fats and therefore, kilocalories (kcal), which you consume during the Christmas holidays.

In the labeling on each Christmas candy the composition is usually detailed according to each 100 grams of product. We’ve preferred to show you the composition per unit or ration so you can see that you can enjoy something sweet in these festivities, without forgetting that the amount “IS IMPORTANT” and affects our health.

*Suchard chocolate nougat with almonds or crispy white chocolate nougat – similar compositions.

* Guirlache de aragón: almond toasted until caramelized with anise.

In conclusion, we can enjoy these sweet treats on these special dates without needing to overdo them. Being extremely careful when consuming them and limiting them as much as possible will be the key to maintaining our weight and ensuring that Christmas doesn’t take its toll on our health.
